Apocalypse Annex

Apocalypse Annex is a mono-black Standard midrange/control deck built around attrition, removal, and resilient threats. It uses cards like Nowhere to Run, Bitter Triumph, Withering Torment, and Strategic Betrayal to disrupt opposing creatures and grind down the opponent’s resources, while value creatures like Preacher of the Schism and Qarsi Revenant help maintain pressure.

Its key synergy appears to center on Unholy Annex // Ritual Chamber and its suite of aggressive, hard-to-answer black threats such as Bloodthirsty Conqueror, The Speed Demon, and Unstoppable Slasher, which let the deck pivot from control into a fast closing clock. Overall, it aims to stabilize the board, trade efficiently, and then win through sustained creature pressure and incremental value.
