Avishkar Spellcraft

Avishkar Spellcraft is a blue-red (Izzet) spells/tempo-control deck in Standard. It plays a high density of cheap instants and sorceries like Opt, Sleight of Hand, Spell Pierce, Burst Lightning, and Torch the Tower to control the board, disrupt the opponent, and keep cards flowing.

Its key synergies revolve around spells-matter payoffs such as Saheeli, Jewel of Avishkar, Ral, Crackling Wit, and Artist’s Talent, which reward chaining spells and turning small cantrips and interaction into real pressure and value. The deck aims to win by surviving the early game, generating incremental advantage through repeated spellcasting, and eventually overwhelming the opponent with planeswalker value, token/board pressure, and efficient burn.
