Lathiel

Lathiel is a Selesnya (green-white) lifegain + +1/+1 counters Commander deck. Its main plan is to gain life repeatedly through cards like Soul Warden, Essence Warden, Ajani’s Welcome, Daxos, Blessed by the Sun, and Prosperous Innkeeper, then use Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn to turn that life gain into +1/+1 counters across the board at end step.

The deck plays like a go-wide/value-based counters engine, stacking synergies with Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution, Conclave Mentor, Good-Fortune Unicorn, Ivy Lane Denizen, Cathars’ Crusade, and Archangel of Thune to grow creatures quickly. It also has notable combo potential, especially Heliod, Sun-Crowned + Walking Ballista for infinite damage, and strong life/counter loops with Spike Feeder, Archangel of Thune, and Scurry Oak interactions.

It aims to win by building a large, resilient board and overwhelming opponents in combat, often finishing with pump/protection effects like Akroma’s Will,
