The succession

The Succession is a Dimir (blue-black) Standard midrange/control deck built around disruption, efficient removal, and resilient threats.

It aims to slow the opponent down early with cards like Duress, Cut Down, Go for the Throat, Anoint with Affliction, and Deadly Cover-Up, while applying pressure with evasive and value creatures such as Deep-Cavern Bat, Faerie Mastermind, Spyglass Siren, and Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor.

Its main synergies come from combining hand disruption and creature removal to keep the opponent off balance, then winning through powerful standalone threats like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Aclazotz, Deepest Betrayal, Lord Skitter, Sewer King, and Virtue of Persistence for late-game inevitability. Restless Reef and the creature suite help chip in damage while the deck grinds out card advantage and board control.
