MTG Myriad Explained: Rules, All 23 Myriad Cards, the Pod Math, the Only Keyword That Does Nothing in a Two-Player Game, Blade of Selves and a $92 The Master, Multiplied Deck (2026)

Myriad is the keyword that lets one creature attack every opponent at once: when it attacks, it makes a tapped-and-attacking token copy of itself for each opponent other than the one it is already attacking, and the copies leave at end of combat. It was designed for Commander 2015, has never appeared in a Standard-legal set, and a decade on it is on exactly 23 paper cards — every one of them a creature, no two of them sharing a creature type. This guide counts all 23, does the arithmetic on what each one is worth at a three-, four- and five-player table, and finds the number that explains why the mechanic feels so different from everything else in the game: of the 194 keyword abilities in the Comprehensive Rules, thirteen mention your opponents in their definition, and myriad is the only one that counts them minus one. That subtraction is the defending player. In a two-player game it leaves zero, and myriad is the only keyword ability in Magic that does nothing at all in a two-player game — not “less,” nothing, a fact Wizards printed as a ruling on the very first myriad card.

The same measurement explains where the cards come from. A second script asked Scryfall, for 252 keywords and ability words, how many of each one’s cards are legal in Modern — which is to say, were ever printed in a Standard-legal set. Twenty-five keywords have never had one, and myriad is the sixth-largest of them by card count, behind choose a Background, horsemanship, Doctor’s companion, encore and banding. It was also, by first-printing date, the first keyword ability in rule 702 ever introduced in a Commander preconstructed deck: partner and undaunted followed a year later, then squad, ravenous and Doctor’s companion. Everything before it that was born in a Commander deck — join forces, tempting offer, lieutenant — was an ability word, a label with no rules of its own. This guide covers all of it: the rules and the three consequences of the token entering attacking without ever having attacked, the pod math, every card by set, colour and format, the ten cards that grant myriad to creatures that do not have it, the creatures worth granting it to, the commander that switches the exile clause off and the copy engines it switches on with it, the attack taxes the tokens never pay, the hate, the commanders, and a 100-card The Master, Multiplied Commander deck for $92.20 that plays all nine myriad cards legal in its colours. Every card fact was pulled from the live Scryfall database on 20 September 2026 and checked against the Comprehensive Rules of 7 August 2026.

What myriad actually does

Myriad is rule 702.116, and the whole mechanic is one long sentence and a short one:

702.116a Myriad is a triggered ability that may also create a delayed triggered ability. “Myriad” means “Whenever this creature attacks, for each opponent other than defending player, you may create a token that’s a copy of this creature that’s tapped and attacking that player or a planeswalker they control. If one or more tokens are created this way, exile the tokens at end of combat.”

702.116b If a creature has multiple instances of myriad, each triggers separately.

Three things follow from the wording, and every myriad ruling on Scryfall is one of them restated. First, myriad is an attack trigger. It goes on the stack when you declare the creature as an attacker, and the tokens arrive when it resolves — after attackers are declared, before blockers. Second, the tokens are put onto the battlefield attacking; they were never declared as attackers. That single distinction decides most of the interactions in this guide: the tokens never trigger “whenever this creature attacks” abilities (including their own copy of myriad), they never pay attack costs such as Propaganda, and they ignore attack restrictions altogether, because rule 508.4c says a creature put onto the battlefield attacking “isn’t affected by requirements or restrictions that apply to the declaration of attackers.” But they do enter the battlefield, so every “when this creature enters” ability on the copied creature fires once per token. Third, the exile at end of combat is a delayed triggered ability, not a rule of the game. Anything that stops a triggered ability from resolving — ending the turn before end of combat, or a permanent that says triggered abilities cannot make you exile your tokens — keeps the copies.

The 2015 printings use the older “put a token onto the battlefield” wording that the whole game swapped for “create” in 2016; the Oracle text on every printing now says “create,” and nothing about how the ability works has changed.

“Defending player” is fixed the moment you attack

The ruling printed on myriad cards since Battle for Baldur’s Gate reads: the defending player “refers to the player the creature with myriad was attacking, the controller of the planeswalker it was attacking, or the protector of the battle it was attacking at the time the ability resolves. If that creature is no longer attacking, it refers to the appropriate player based on who or what the creature was last attacking.” So if you attack Alice with Warchief Giant, Alice is the defending player for the trigger, and the tokens go at Bob and Carol — or at any planeswalker Bob and Carol control, your choice per token as it is created, but never at a battle. If Alice kills the Giant in response, the trigger still resolves, still remembers Alice, and still makes two Giants for Bob and Carol.

The only keyword that is zero in a two-player game

The Comprehensive Rules of 7 August 2026 define 194 keyword abilities, numbered 702.2 (deathtouch) to 702.195 (storied). Search the definitions for the word “opponent” and thirteen come back: hexproof, ward, bloodthirst, extort, tribute, myriad, melee, undaunted, spectacle, encore, demonstrate, gift and the speed trigger under start your engines!. Twelve of them scale with the number of opponents or check something an opponent did, and all twelve work with one opponent. Myriad is the thirteenth. Its count is “each opponent other than defending player,” and with one opponent, that opponent is always the defending player.

Wizards said so on the first day. The Banshee of the Dread Choir ruling of 4 November 2015 — nine days before Commander 2015 released — reads: “If the defending player is your only opponent, no tokens are put onto the battlefield.” Encore, the nearest cousin, makes one token in a duel; melee is +1/+1; undaunted saves {1}. Myriad makes nothing. It is the only keyword in the game whose text was written for a table of at least three, which is why none of its 23 cards has ever been legal in Standard, Pioneer or Modern, and why none of them is on Arena at all (the legality table below has the zeros).

The pod math: what each myriad creature is worth at each table

Because the count is opponents minus one, a myriad creature is worth its power once in a duel, twice at a three-player table, three times at four and four times at five. Every token has the printed power of the original — copies do not carry counters, Equipment or pump — so the arithmetic is exact. Across the 21 myriad creatures with a fixed power, the population is 72 power attacking alone and 220 power at a four-player table: three times 72, plus four more from the one card that has myriad twice.

Sumala Rumblers*11 attacker (* power each)2 attackers (* power each)3 attackers (* power each)4 attackers (* power each)

Three rows need a note. Scurry of Squirrels is printed “Myriad, myriad,” and rule 702.116b says each instance triggers separately, so at a four-player table it makes four tokens, not two: five 2/2 Squirrels attacking three players, each one that connects putting a +1/+1 counter on a creature you control — and the counter goes on the original, which is the one that stays. Elturel Survivors is a 0/4 that gets +X/+0 for the number of lands the defending player controls while it is attacking, and each token is attacking a different defender, so each token is a different size: at a table where your three opponents have seven, five and nine lands, the three Survivors are a 7/4, a 5/4 and a 9/4, all with trample. Caller of the Pack is the top of the table by a distance: a 8/6 trampler alone, 24 trampling power split three ways at a four-player table, for seven mana at uncommon. Polygoyf and Sumala Rumblers have variable power that the tokens copy as a characteristic-defining ability, so every Polygoyf token counts the same graveyards and every Rumblers token counts the same creatures — including each other.

Every myriad card, 2015 to 2025

Scryfall lists 23 cards with the myriad keyword across paper Magic, all 23 creatures, one of them legendary (The Master, Multiplied) and one an artifact creature (Dalek Squadron). Twenty are mono-coloured — red 6, white 5, green 5, black 2, blue 2 — the two hybrid Selesnya cards from Ravnica: Clue Edition can go in either colour, and The Master is the only gold card. Rarities run 4 commons, 9 uncommons, 9 rares and a single mythic, Battle Angels of Tyr, which is also the most expensive card in the population by a wide margin: $23.43 of the $56.05 it costs to buy all 23, with 14 of them under a dollar. Mean mana value is 4.26 and five is the mode (9 of 23). No two of the 23 share a creature-type line — Spirit, Angel Knight, Snake, Beast, Eldrazi Drone, Dalek, Tiefling Peasant, Gnoll, Lhurgoyf, Dinosaur, Squirrel Scout, Time Lord Rogue and eleven more — which tells you the mechanic has been used as a multiplayer seasoning on whatever each set was doing rather than as a tribe.

Eight products, one six-year gap

Myriad debuted on five cards in Commander 2015 — one per colour, each printed in both of the two decks that shared its colour: Herald of the Host, Broodbirth Viper, Banshee of the Dread Choir, Warchief Giant and Caller of the Pack — plus the Equipment that grants it, Blade of Selves. Then it disappeared for six and a half years. Nothing in Commander 2016 through 2021, nothing in Commander Legends, until Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate put nine myriad creatures into a single draft set in June 2022, more than any other product before or since and 39% of everything with the keyword. Since then it has come back in ones and twos: the Doctor Who decks (two, including the only legendary), Lost Caverns of Ixalan Commander (one), Ravnica: Clue Edition (two), Modern Horizons 3 Commander (two), Bloomburrow Commander (one) and Tarkir: Dragonstorm Commander (one). Every one of those products is a Commander deck or a supplemental draft set. None of them is a Standard-legal expansion, and that is the whole story of the legality table.

Twenty-five keywords have never been in a Standard set. Myriad is the sixth-largest.

For scale, the script that measured this asked Scryfall two questions for each of 252 keywords and ability words: how many paper cards carry it, and how many of those are legal in Modern — Modern legality being the cleanest proxy for “was printed in a Standard-legal set,” since every such set since Eighth Edition is Modern-legal. Across the 18,722 cards measured, 13,408 are Modern-legal, 71.6%. Twenty-five keywords sit at zero. Ranked by how many cards they have, myriad is sixth:

The list is three families. The old ones — banding, horsemanship, phasing, fading — are mechanics Wizards retired before Modern existed and has never reprinted into a Standard set. The Conspiracy family — hidden agenda, will of the council, council’s dilemma, parley, dethrone, melee, double agenda — was built for a draft format that was itself built for multiplayer. And the Commander-and-Battlebond family, which is the biggest: choose a Background, Doctor’s companion, encore, myriad, assist, squad, lieutenant, ravenous, eminence, tempting offer, undaunted, join forces, commander ninjutsu (frenzy, the twenty-fifth, is a single Unstable card). Myriad is the oldest keyword ability in that family. Join forces (2011), tempting offer (2013) and lieutenant (2014) came first, but rule 207.2c lists all three as ability words, italic labels with no rules meaning of their own. Myriad, in November 2015, was the first entry in rule 702 that a Commander deck ever introduced; partner and undaunted followed in Commander 2016, squad and ravenous in the Warhammer 40,000 decks, Doctor’s companion in 2023. The Baldur’s Gate set that holds nine myriad cards also introduced choose a Background, the largest keyword on the list.

Legality: where each of the 23 can be played

The legality sweep found zero odd values: nothing banned, nothing restricted, anywhere. Every myriad card is legal in Legacy, Vintage and Commander; four commons — Genasi Enforcers, Tabaxi Toucaneers, Tiamat’s Fanatics and Wyrm’s Crossing Patrol — are Pauper-legal; and that is the whole list. No myriad card has ever been printed in a Standard, Pioneer or Modern set, and none has been released on Arena, so the keyword does not exist in Historic, Timeless, Brawl or Alchemy either.

The tokens enter, but they never attacked

The most useful sentence in the myriad rulings is this one, printed as a ruling on myriad cards from 2015, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025: “Although the tokens enter the battlefield attacking, they were never declared as attackers. Abilities that trigger whenever a creature attacks won’t trigger, including the myriad ability of the tokens. If there are any costs to have a creature attack, those costs won’t apply to the tokens.” Set that beside the other half — “Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of the copied creature will trigger when the tokens enter the battlefield” — and you can read every myriad card’s value off its text box. Sorting the 23 by what the rest of the card does:

The pattern is the design. Not one of the 23 myriad creatures has an enters-the-battlefield ability, because a myriad creature with a strong ETB would be three ETBs per attack for free; Wizards put the payoffs on combat damage instead (seven cards), where each token has to connect. The ETB half of the mechanic lives on the granters — Blade of Selves on a creature that does have an enters ability — and that is the section after next. The one attack trigger in the population, Hammers of Moradin, taps a creature per opponent when the original attacks; its tokens never attacked, so they add nothing. The one leaves-the-battlefield trigger, Chittering Dispatcher, is the only card in the game that treats myriad’s exile clause as a feature: each token exiled at end of combat is a creature leaving the battlefield, so a four-player attack leaves you two Eldrazi Spawn.

The ten cards that grant myriad

Eleven cards mention myriad without having it. One is a false hit — The Everflowing Well transforms into a land called The Myriad Pools, and the word is only in the name — and the other ten give the keyword to something. Blade of Selves is the original, from the same Commander 2015 decks as the first five creatures, and it is still the best: two mana, equip four, and the equipped creature has myriad for as long as the Blade stays on (it is the one Equipment in our equipment guide that multiplies the creature rather than the creature’s stats). Three of the ten arrived in Battle for Baldur’s Gate, two in the Doctor Who decks, and the two newest are 2026 commanders — Mass of Mysteries from Lorwyn Eclipsed Commander and Muddle, the Ever-Changing from Secrets of Strixhaven Commander, which is the top myriad commander on EDHREC as this is written.

One thing the granters have in common with the rulings: a token copy has only the copied creature’s printed text, not the Blade. A Sun Titan wearing Blade of Selves makes two Sun Titans at a four-player table, and those two do not have myriad. Muddle and Auton Soldier are the exceptions, because on those two the myriad is part of the copy effect itself (“except it has myriad”), which makes it a copiable value — and Legion Loyalty and Cybermen Squadron give the keyword to the tokens too, because the tokens are creatures you control.

The best creatures to give myriad to

The value is in the enters triggers, so the question is which enters trigger you want three times a turn. The table is the classic list, each with what a four-player attack produces — two tokens entering, plus the original already on the battlefield — and one row, Kokusho, that is the mechanic’s oldest trick: the tokens are legendary, the legend rule kills them the moment they enter, and each death drains every opponent for five. Our legend rule guide has the timing.

Fleshbag Marauder{2}{B}Each player sacrifices a creatureThree edicts$0.19

Two things to know before you build around it. The tokens enter tapped and attacking, so an ETB that needs the creature to do something later (Peregrine Drake untapping lands works; a creature that wants to block does not) is fine, but a token that dies in combat before its trigger resolves still resolves the trigger — the ability is already on the stack. And the copies copy printed values only: no counters, no Auras, no Equipment, no pump. If the original is a 4/4 wearing a Sword, the tokens are 4/4s with nothing.

Keeping the tokens: The Master, Multiplied and the copy engines it switches on

The Master, Multiplied is the only legendary myriad card and the one that rewrites the mechanic. Its second static ability reads: “Triggered abilities you control can’t cause you to sacrifice or exile creature tokens you control.” The end-of-combat exile is a delayed triggered ability you control. The Scryfall ruling from the card’s release spells it out: the exile part of myriad “is a triggered ability. This means that the ability will trigger, but you won’t exile the tokens when it resolves. Since the tokens also have myriad, attacking with each of them will cause that myriad ability to trigger, causing the Master to, well… multiply.” And because its first ability turns off the legend rule for your creature tokens, the copies of a legendary creature all stay too.

AttackMasters attacking (three players)Masters attacking (four players)Masters attacking (five players)
Combat 11 attack, 2 after1 attack, 3 after1 attack, 4 after
Combat 22 attack, 4 after3 attack, 9 after4 attack, 16 after
Combat 34 attack, 8 after9 attack, 27 after16 attack, 64 after
Combat 48 attack, 16 after27 attack, 81 after64 attack, 256 after
Combat 516 attack, 32 after81 attack, 243 after256 attack, 1024 after

The exponent is opponents minus one plus one: each Master that attacks becomes three at a four-player table, so five attacks is 243 Masters, of which 81 attacked in the fifth combat. In practice the table dies around combat three. The same clause applies to every other “make a copy, exile or sacrifice it later” card in red, and it makes each of them a permanent copy engine:

Lithoform Engine{4}{2},{T}: copy a triggered ability, or {3},{T}: copy a permanent spellSame$5.84

Two cards do the same job without the commander. Sundial of the Infinite and Obeka, Brute Chronologist end the turn, and rule 724.1a says triggered abilities that have triggered but not yet been put on the stack “cease to exist” — activate either during the end of combat step with the exile trigger waiting, and the tokens are yours. Strionic Resonator copies the myriad trigger itself for a second set of tokens; with the Master, the second set stays as well.

Doublers and enter payoffs

Myriad says “create a token,” so every token doubler doubles it, and the ruling on the cards confirms the extra tokens are aimed separately: “If an instance of myriad creates more than one token for any given player (due to an effect such as the one Doubling Season creates), you may choose separately for each token whether it’s attacking the player or a planeswalker they control.” Enter payoffs are the other half. Purphoros deals 2 to each opponent per creature entering under your control, so a four-player myriad attack is 4 damage to every face before a blocker is declared; Impact Tremors is the same at 1; Warstorm Surge and Terror of the Peaks turn each token’s power into damage as it enters. Our token generators guide has the doublers in full.

The attack taxes the tokens never pay

“If there are any costs to have a creature attack, those costs won’t apply to the tokens.” Propaganda, Ghostly Prison and every card in the pillow-fort family charge a cost to declare an attacker. A myriad token is never declared. You pay {2} for the original to attack Alice, and the copies attacking Bob and Carol cost nothing, whatever Bob and Carol have on the table. Rule 508.4c goes further than costs: a creature put onto the battlefield attacking “isn’t affected by requirements or restrictions that apply to the declaration of attackers,” which is why a black myriad token can enter attacking the Elephant Grass player even though a black creature cannot be declared as attacking them.

How to beat a myriad deck

The tokens are the weak point in two ways. They are token copies, so anything that stops enters triggers — Torpor Orb, Hushbringer, Hushwing Gryff — turns a Blade of Selves deck into a deck of vanilla attackers. And they are attacking creatures, so everything that punishes an attack punishes three of them: Settle the Wreckage, Aetherize, Comeuppance, or simply a Fog. The exile at end of combat is not a death, so aristocrat triggers do not fire for it; but tokens that die in combat do die, and Blood Artist and Grave Pact on the myriad player’s side of the table are the reason the tokens are usually pointed at the player with the fewest blockers.

Myriad commanders

EDHREC’s myriad theme page, read on 20 September 2026, lists Muddle, the Ever-Changing (130 decks), Neriv, Heart of the Storm (100), The Master, Multiplied (94), Deadpool, Trading Card (66) and Duke Ulder Ravengard (62) as its top commanders. Only one of them — The Master — has the keyword; the rest either grant it, copy it or double what it does. Isshin, Two Heavens as One is the most-played card that belongs on the list and is not on it: every attack trigger fires twice, so every myriad creature makes two sets of tokens.

On this site, sixteen of the 174 precon deck pages hold a myriad card or a granter. The Masters of Evil Doctor Who deck has four (The Master, Multiplied, Dalek Squadron, Auton Soldier and Cybermen Squadron) and is the closest thing to a myriad precon Wizards has printed; Mardu Surge from Tarkir: Dragonstorm has four as well (Goldlust Triad, Blade of Selves, Ironwill Forger, Legion Loyalty); and the original Wade into Battle from 2015 has Herald of the Host, Warchief Giant and the Blade.

The deck: The Master, Multiplied for $92.20

The Master is the commander because its text box is the mechanic’s answer key: tokens stay, the legend rule is off, and every copy engine in red becomes permanent. Rakdos has nine of the 23 myriad cards — all nine are here, the commander included — plus two of the ten granters, Blade of Selves and Firbolg Flutist, which steals an opponent’s best enters creature, gives it haste and myriad, and attacks with three of it. The enters creatures the Blade is for are cheap and drain-shaped: Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Sepulchral Primordial (a reanimation from each opponent’s graveyard, three times), Rapacious Dragon, Ravenous Chupacabra, Meteor Golem, Plaguecrafter. Feldon of the Third Path, Delina, Wild Mage, Rionya, Fire Dancer, Twinflame, Mimic Vat, Flamerush Rider and Flameshadow Conjuring are the copy engines from the table above, all of them permanent under the commander; Relentless Assault, Seize the Day, Fury of the Horde and Hellkite Charger are the extra combats, each one a second myriad trigger for everything on the table. Impact Tremors, Witty Roastmaster and Warstorm Surge pay you per token entering; Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat pay you per token dying. Thirty-six lands, including Myriad Landscape, which is here for the name.

Priced on the cheapest ordinary printing of every card (no promos, no serialized or Secret Lair versions), the 99 plus the commander come to $92.20. The ten most expensive cards:

Rulings worth knowing

  1. Two players, no tokens. “If the defending player is your only opponent, no tokens are put onto the battlefield.” The oldest myriad ruling, from 4 November 2015.
  2. Defending player is whoever the creature was attacking when it was declared — or the controller of the planeswalker, or the protector of the battle. Killing the creature in response does not change it.
  3. You choose per token whether it attacks the player or a planeswalker they control, as the token is created. A token cannot be put onto the battlefield attacking a battle.
  4. The tokens were never declared as attackers. No “whenever this creature attacks” triggers, not even their own myriad; no attack costs; no attack restrictions (rule 508.4c).
  5. All the tokens from one trigger enter at the same time. A Scurry of Squirrels has two triggers, so its tokens enter in two batches.
  6. Copies copy what was printed and nothing else. Not counters, not Auras or Equipment, not whether the original is tapped, not pump. The only exception is copy effects that are part of the original’s copiable values (Muddle, Auton Soldier).
  7. Enters abilities fire for every token, and so do “as this enters” and “enters with” abilities.
  8. Doublers double, and you aim each extra token separately.
  9. Vigilance does not stop the tokens entering tapped. The Herald of the Host ruling — and one of the traps in our vigilance guide.
  10. The exile is a delayed trigger. End the turn first (Sundial of the Infinite, Obeka) and it never resolves; with The Master, Multiplied it resolves and does nothing.
  11. Legendary copies meet the legend rule — unless you control The Master, whose 2024 ruling adds that a token copy of your commander and the commander itself can coexist.
  12. A player who has left the game is not an opponent, so the count shrinks as the table does (the Gnoll War Band ruling states it for that card’s cost reduction; the same logic applies to the trigger).
  13. Only the tokens myriad made are exiled. A token made by a myriad token’s own ability — Conclave Evangelist’s combat-damage copy, per its printed ruling, or a copy you make of a myriad token with populate — stays. Our populate guide covers the second case.

Frequently asked questions

What does myriad mean in MTG?

Whenever a creature with myriad attacks, for each opponent other than the one it is attacking, you may create a token copy of it that is tapped and attacking that opponent (or a planeswalker they control). The tokens are exiled at end of combat. It is rule 702.116 and was introduced in Commander 2015.

Does myriad work in a two-player game?

No. There is no opponent other than the defending player, so no tokens are made. It is the only keyword ability in the Comprehensive Rules whose effect is zero with one opponent.

Do myriad tokens trigger enters-the-battlefield abilities?

Yes. The tokens enter the battlefield, so every enters ability of the copied creature triggers once per token. That is the whole point of Blade of Selves.

Do the myriad tokens have myriad?

If the original has myriad printed on it, the tokens have it too — but they never trigger it, because they were never declared as attackers. If the original only has myriad from Blade of Selves or another granter, the tokens do not have it at all.

Do myriad tokens steal the monarch?

Yes, and nothing does it better. The monarch moves to the controller of any creature that deals combat damage to the monarch, and a myriad attacker puts a copy in front of every opponent at once — whoever holds the crown, one of the copies is attacking them. Our monarch guide has the rule, the 63 monarch cards and the rest of the ways to take the crown.

Do myriad tokens have to pay for Propaganda or Ghostly Prison?

No. Those are costs to declare an attacker, and the tokens are put onto the battlefield attacking without being declared. Only the original pays.

Are myriad tokens of a goaded creature goaded too?

No. Rule 701.15b says goaded is “neither an ability nor part of the permanent’s copiable values,” so the token copies enter ungoaded — only the original is forced to attack. Our goad guide covers the rest of the goad rulings and all 84 goad cards.

Can I keep the myriad tokens?

Yes, three ways: control The Master, Multiplied (triggered abilities cannot make you exile your creature tokens), end the turn before end of combat with Sundial of the Infinite or Obeka, Brute Chronologist, or make a copy of a token with something that is not myriad (populate, Conclave Evangelist), which is not one of “the tokens” the ability exiles.

Do myriad tokens of my commander deal commander damage?

No. A permanent that is copying a commander is not a commander (the example under rule 903.3c), so damage from a token copy of The Master, Multiplied is ordinary damage.

Do token doublers work with myriad?

Yes. Myriad creates tokens, so Doubling Season, Anointed Procession, Parallel Lives and Mondrak double them, and you choose separately for each extra token whether it attacks the player or a planeswalker.

What happens if a legendary creature has myriad?

The tokens are legendary copies, so the legend rule applies as they enter: you keep one and the rest go to the graveyard, which triggers any death abilities they have. With The Master, Multiplied on the battlefield the legend rule does not apply to your creature tokens and they all stay.

How many myriad cards are there?

Twenty-three cards have the keyword as of 20 September 2026, all of them creatures, from eight products between Commander 2015 and Tarkir: Dragonstorm Commander. Ten more cards grant myriad without having it.

Is myriad legal in Standard, Pioneer or Modern?

No myriad card has ever been printed in a Standard-legal set, so the answer is no in all three, and the keyword does not exist on Arena. All 23 are legal in Commander, Legacy and Vintage, and four commons are legal in Pauper. Nothing with myriad has ever been banned.

Does Isshin, Two Heavens as One double myriad?

Yes. Myriad is an attack trigger of a permanent you control, so Isshin makes it trigger twice: two tokens per other opponent instead of one. Scurry of Squirrels under Isshin makes four triggers.

What is the best myriad commander?

By EDHREC deck count it is Muddle, the Ever-Changing, which grants itself myriad as a copy of your best creature. For a deck about the keyword itself, The Master, Multiplied is the only legendary myriad card and the only one that keeps the tokens; the $92.20 list above is built on it.
